Your Chooseday message from Canada!

Hello,

“If you’re having trouble receiving graciously,

then you’re probably having trouble giving generously.”

Bob Proctor

Happy Chooseday from snowy Toronto, Canada!

(Have you ever found it difficult to pack for snowy conditions when you’re in a bathing costume in 38-degree-summer? Fortunately the hotel is warm!)

I am fortunate enough to be spending 6 days masterminding with Bob Proctor and dynamic people from around the world.

It has been very interesting to see how people formulate their goals – and how it impacts on others helping them.

When I read “The Secret”  in July 2007 and decided that I would get to know the featured experts in there, and teach what they were teaching about the human mind – I certainly didn’t expect that I would be fortunate enough to spend as much time with Bob Proctor as I have.

Giver’s Gain – you’re probably familiar with the concept of “the more you give, the more you get”.

We did an interesting exercise this afternoon – whereby each person said what they needed for the next step in their plan – and then we would write ways in which we could help them. These ways could include contacts, ideas or other insights.

Those that were clear on what they wanted received lots of offers of help. Ideas were exchanged, contacts were shared – and a great result was achieved.

Those that were vague about what they really wanted wasted their time trying to explain it – and ended up getting very little assistance.

This is  true in life – when we are clear on what we want, we very often find others that are keen to help us get there. But if you don’t know where you’re headed, how on earth is anyone going to help you get there?

At each stage of our life, we need to redefine what we want. When you’ve reached a really big goal – it’s time to reset new goals. The purpose of a goal is to grow you as a person, not just to achieve whatever the goal is.

This last week I have been travelling around the USA looking for investment property. It was a whirlwind trip and I can honestly say it was totally business – two days in Dallas, then Kansas City followed by Atlanta. It was a real eye opener. I’ve managed to video several of the conversations I had with realtors, business owners and property managers in each city.

Many of you have asked me to discuss this  – so I figured it might be easier if I simply create an education site for you to use as a member.

Watch this space and I will let you know when I have this material ready to share with you online.  If you have friends who may be interested, they can visit www.evolvedynamic.net and put their details into the Chooseday box, as this is the channel which I will use to notify you when it’s ready.

Enjoy the rest of your Chooseday – and Happy Valentines day too!

Kind regards

Jill

Your Chooseday message

January 24, 2012 by

Can you believe how quickly January has progressed? I’m wondering how your goals are coming along – the ones you may have set a year or two ago, or perhaps you set them as New Year’s Resolutions?
Resolutions rarely stick (sorry to disappoint you) – so don’t wonder why your good intentions on Jan 1 have dissipated – no matter how disciplined you are.
Resolutions are very often what you think others think you should be doing – or trying to change who you are into a different person.
You may achieve them, but it will most likely be at the expense of something important to you.Setting goals that you actually intend to achieve – now those are the ones that do work. Yes I know you know this – you probably tell others about this – so why am I talking to you about it?In the words of Zig Ziglar when asked if motivation works:

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last.

Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.”

You eat food daily, you drink water daily, you wash daily (or that’s what I thought – and if you don’t, I’d rather be none the wiser about your daily ablutions!)

Just as our body needs nourishment, so too does our mind. If we want to achieve great goals – ones that scare and excite us, we need to feed our mind with good strong positive thoughts – every single day.

As your gift this Chooseday, to boost your motivation and give you some inspiration, I’m inviting you to join me for a FREE webinar (Kickstart 2012) tomorrow (Wednesday 25th January 2012) – simply click on this link to find out more.

Scoopons, Groupons, Living Social or whatever voucher you use!

January 2, 2012 by

Do you use Scoopons, or Doupons, or Living social – or Groupons? Or whatever other voucher system is in your area?

This morning, our bedroom and my office were turned upside down, to clear the carpet to be cleaned professionally. The guy arrives to clean them – I show him the carpets and he tells me the stains probably won’t come out. Why, I wonder, am I getting them professionally cleaned if they won’t come out clean?

On chatting to him further I ask if he is the owner of the business – yes, and if he has found that these vouchers give repeat business. No, he says, they normally go off and get the next voucher when they next need their carpets cleaned – so he hasn’t found any repeat business.

I have used these vouchers several times for a variety of occasions. Some providers give an outstanding experience. I took a voucher for a full body massage, pedicure, manicure and facial with a spa in Perth city centre. What an awesome experience. They treated me like royalty! And when I left I got a voucher for the next time I go back there.
The massage was outstanding, the facial top notch – and the pedicure – lets say that paint stayed on my toenails longer than many others have!
Will I go back there? Most definitely – they treated me like a valued customer.
What they also did right is get all my details including my email address. Now, while I havent’ heard from them yet, when I do I will be interested in whatever they have to offer.

Another voucher for pedicure and manicure – the lady giving it talked non-stop throughout the appointment, told me how the Living social team only pays them when the end of the voucher period arrives – so if the voucher expires at the end of December, they only get their money in January.

So if you’re a business wondering whether to use these vouchers as part of your marketing campaign, here is my advice (take it or leave it!)

- make sure you have a marketing campaign around this – have a system for capturing email addresses and contact details for your new prospective clients,
- recognize that it may cost you money – just like any marketing campaign will.
- Treat each voucher recipient as a new customer – treat them like royalty and they will return for repeat business

The franchise owner who cleaned my carpets this morning left without asking me for my email address. Golden opportunity – I was happy with the service – I even asked him for a quote to clean the other 3 carpeted rooms – which he gave me verbally and still didn’t ask for my email address.
Yes, he handed me some brochures and a magnet for my fridge (good one) – but they were for their other product line which is restoration cleaning.
The 1970’s houses are ugly, I’m certainly not paying money to restore it – it’s going to be all about renovating it!

Happy New Year!

December 31, 2011 by

The last day of 2011 is upon us – and once again I wonder where the year has gone!
Do you remember when our parents used to lament how quickly time flies? Surely we’re not that age already?

My New Year’s message for you is to keep it simple – and get what you want!

If your car is empty (needing fuel) – do you spend hours pondering over what went wrong when it was younger  to cause it to need petrol?

Do you decide to simply press on and not worry about filling it with petrol (my husband might tell you that I have on occasion done this – never run out of petrol but it came close!) – or do you simply fill the tank up at the next opportunity?

How often have you ignored the little red light that comes on warning you that you don’t have much fuel left in your tank?

I love deep thinking – but I do think there is a time and place to keep things really simple – and simply put into your life what you need.  Time and time again I hear people saying it’s their limiting beliefs that are holding them back. Now that you know your limiting paradigms have held you back, you can change them! By repeating them, you’re making the decision to hold yourself back rather than move forward!

If you are tired, sleep. If you are hungry, eat. Decide what you want, and go out and get it.

If you want to get fit, then strap on your trainers and get outside! Or put your bathers on and head for the beach (for my friends in the southern hemisphere.) If you’re in the northern hemisphere and it’s snowing, then hit the slopes and enjoy the snow!

If you’re not feeling healthy, then go and see a naturopath or homeopath (at least see a qualified medical person who will look at your body as a whole) – and get an action plan to become more healthy.

If you’re not happy then decide what it would take to make you happy – and do it. (Clue- it’s an inside job).
If you’re frustrated by those around you, make a decision to either change your attitude towards them or move away.

If you’re feeling lonely – then start with getting connected to yourself and your maker in a positive way – then go and make a difference to others.

When is now a good time to make a decision to live the life you really desire?
You can either spend hours upon hours trying to find the causes of problems in your life, or you can simply spend a bit of time deciding what a great solution would look like.

By focusing on what you want, not what you don’t want, you will get exactly that.  As  Napoleon Hill tells us in “Think and Grow Rich”: ” Whatever idea is held in the mind, whether  feared or revered, will clothe itself in the nearest physical equivalent”.

Decide what you want, and take the actions that you need to take to get it.  Don’t wait for someone else to change, or to do it for you – you’re the only one you can control – you’re the only one that can take the actions you need to take.

It’s all up to you – make it a great New year!

The Power of the Mastermind

October 22, 2011 by

In our social life there are many reasons why we seek to surround ourselves with like-minded people; we enjoy the same sport or hobby; love to indulge in good food or wine, or just happen to enjoy hanging out.

In our working life it can often be a different story, particularly if you’re running a business. Do you ever feel like a big fish in a small pond?  (or are you in a new pond?)

Are you needing to surround yourself with bigger thinkers than you have now?

Do you have people around you that challenge your thinking and stretch you to reach your full potential?  Do you have mentors that have already achieved what you wish to achieve?

Are you like the investors and business owners I work with – who are successful, but who would like to get together regularly with other successful people with different expertise and experience?  If you are, then you will love what we have put together!

Enter the Dynamic MasterMind Alliance  – a group of thought leaders who, amongst other things, will become your trusted advisors, mentors and colleagues to bounce ideas off.

The concept of a MasterMind group is not new but was originally conceived in the early 1900′s by some of America’s first wave of millionaire (and billionaire) entrepreneurs such as Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford and John D Rockefeller.

Napoleon Hill, author of the classic Think and Grow Rich, went on to spend over 20 years studying 500 of the world’s most successful individuals and compiled a list of their successful habits – one of which is forming a powerful MasterMind group.

In his book he wrote about the MasterMind principle as:

“The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony.”

He wrote, “No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind.”

Take a look at the following questions, and if you answer yes to any of them then it may be time to consider looking for some kind of support along the lines of the simple MasterMind principle.

Are you lonely at the top? – Leading your own business or being a leader in someone else’s organisation can often mean that you have to make the hard decisions without the support or understanding of colleagues.

Do you want to take your business to the next level? If you’ve been successful so far, but are looking for a new challenge to reach heights that you haven’t ventured into before, you’ll want to find others that you can talk to – to guide you through the minefield that you face.

Even if your current business is a new venture for you, this could be just what you need to grow it quicker, save you making expensive mistakes and reaping the benefits of your investment quicker.

Do you know you have more to offer than you’re doing right now?  You have big dreams and goals – is the  role you’re playing right now  challenging you like it once did?

Are you overwhelmed? – Has the change in economy affected your long term plans? Feeling overwhelmed with the deicsions of which way to go forward?

Do you always perform to your full potential?  Do you still give 100 per cent every day and love the life that you live or are you struggling to keep your performance at a high level?

Are you still excited about the work that you do?  Remember when you started this and everything was new and exciting? Do you still have that same feeling?

There is a lot to gain from being in the company of people who stretch your thinking.  The fact that they may have a different approach to tackling the same problem is just one of these. And, unlike machines, people can hold you accountable to your goals and offer you emotional support along the way.

Participants in MasterMind groups raise the bar by challenging each other to create and implement goals, brainstorm ideas, and support each other with total honesty and respect. We are meeting once each month, in a group up to 10 people – and discuss business, investments, entities, asset structuring, marketing, social media, mindset, goals – and other topics that will give the participants an excellent return on their investment.

I have always loved learning from others, connecting people to their own potential, and to other people who will be of benefit along their journey.  If you too are looking for this real progress in your business and personal life and an instant and valuable support network then you may wish to consider some of the pluses of belonging to a MasterMind group:

  • Be part of a small group of business leaders, innovators, investors and entrepreneurs – each highly respected in their own expertise – meeting in person right here in Perth or with an international group over the phone.
  • A “board meeting” on your business twice a year which will help you with your current situation and finding opportunities that you can take advantage of.
  • An experienced facilitator and chairman of each group, keeping the group on task and focused on each person’s business in turn
  • A supportive group who will challenge you to live your full potential.
  • Start playing a bigger game, doing what you know you should do.
  • Networking with like-minded locals that are also serious about their wealth journey.
  • Get clear on what you want, and have up to nine others “on your side”.
  • Start benefiting from the principle of a MasterMind alliance as talked about by Napoleon Hill in Think and Grow Rich.
  • Spend time working ON your business rather than IN it.
  • Have FUN with all the other BIG THINKERS in the group.

A MasterMind group will become your secret weapon, giving you the edge that has been missing in your life. It is a win-win for all involved: new growth, new friendships, new motivation and big new steps in the direction that you want to go.

To get more information on joining the Dynamic Mastermind Alliance, send an email to jill@evolvedynamic.net, outlining your current situation and why you would like to be considered as a participant in the Dynamic Mastermind Alliance.  I personally speak with each applicant and make sure that the values of integrity and confidentiality are going to be adhered to. It’s as much about putting into the group as it is about getting something out of it.  If you are prepared to give freely of your experience and expertise for the good of the group, and would like to benefit from the experience and expertise of the group, then you’ll probably going to be a good fit.

The definite purpose of the Dynamic Mastermind Alliance is to grow the wealth of each person in the group, by means of sharing expertise and ideas on each member’s business or investment portfolion in turn.  We will give as much or more than we receive, so that others can experience our skills and expertise. When others know what your strengths are, they can refer you with confidence.

While referrals to your business will come over time, as everyone gets to know you and what you need in your business or investing strategies – the main aim is to serve as “Board members” of each business. Soliciting business is seen as a secondary gain, rather than the focus.  Referals and business will come organically as you prove your integrity and sincerity and capability within the group.

PS:  In order to retain the variation in expertise that will grow the Dynamic Mastermind Alliance, it is important to have people with broad expertise from a variety of businesses or investment asset classes.  Each niche can only be filled by one person – so if you wait before you join, you may need to wait a very long time before someone leaves and creates a space in your business area.

If you are in Perth – our next meeting is on the fourth Monday of each month – so if you act quickly you might be able to join us! Email me on jill@evolvedynamic.net. Next meeting will be on Monday 27 February

“Simple can be harder than complex” ~Steve Jobs~

October 11, 2011 by

“That’s been one of my mantras — focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.”

Steve Jobs, BusinessWeek, May 25, 1998

Steve Jobs has certainly made a difference in the world. Late last year, I was watching the video of his address at Stanford and several others – and was really impressed by his passion and belief in his products. So much so that I decided to trade my Blackberry for an iPhone, just to see what all the fuss was about! These products have revolutionalised the world – and it hasn’t been plain sailing for Steve or for Apple.

Following successful leaders is one of the ways to learn about becoming successful. There are so many people we can learn from. I selected the quote above from Steve because I think it’s so important to have clear and clean thinking – and to keep it simple.

Much of what we do, coaching business owners, is to assist them in getting clarity in their head, so they can take the right actions that will get results for them.

Once you’re clear, you can keep it simple and focus.

Clarity is necessary before you even get into strategy and working with your team. If you don’t have clarity and know where you want to go, how are you going to motivate others to go there with you?

Multi-tasking is over-rated! With modern technology it can be so easy to appear as if we are multi-tasking – switching between email, Word, Facebook, LinkedIn (and if you’re a Twit… ) – then taking a phonecall, responding to a text message, quickly doing some banking…. Have you ever got to the end of a really busy day with nothing concrete to show for it?

When last did you do one thing, and one thing only?

I’ll bet you were pleased with what you accomplished during that time?

If you stick to one thing solidly for a period of time (even 15 minutes) you will find you get so much more done. If you can’t delegate it, then try picking one task, completing it, then going onto the next one. If you don’t have time to work ON your business because you’re too busy working in it, then consider having a Clarity Session with one of the Evolve Dynamic team, to focus purely on you.

“It (success) comes from saying no to 1,000 things to
make sure we don’t get on the wrong track
or try to do too much.”
~Steve Jobs~

How good are you at saying “NO”? In our quest for getting stuff done, it can be tempting to fit in as much as possible (or am I the only one guilty of doing that?!)

Here are some more gems from Steve:

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward;
you can only connect them looking backwards.
So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.
You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.
This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.”

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” Steve Jobs

Enjoy the rest of your Chooseday – Choose to be the person you really want to become – and keep it simple!

Regards

Jill

Scary and Exciting – again!

September 27, 2011 by

This last week has confirmed to me (yet again) how important it is to LOVE what you’re doing, have EXCITING GOALS to pursue, and take ACTION.
We’ve talked before about this – what excites one person doesn’t necessarily excite another – so make sure it’s something you can get excited about!
Only 6 weeks ago, I decided to see if I could get four-times-New-York-Times-best-selling author: Loral Langemeier to come to Perth. In my mind I thought it would be nice to get her here later this year, possibly early next year – which would give us a nice period in which to plan the event. When her office said there was a very slight chance of her fitting it into her schedule, there were two options – host her on 22 September, or wait another 12 months for another gap. There was no guarantee, in fact at that stage, Loral didn’t even know if Perth should be on her itinerary!

My heart jumped into my throat as I calculated the weeks – just 6! Could we do it?
“Could we have everything ready, and get the marketing done so we could fill the room?” These were the thoughts racing through my head.
Loral is famous for the phrase: “Say YES! now and then figure out how”. This was extremely handy to say right back to Loral as she was asking me about the trip to Western Australia!
It took 2 weeks for us to get our contract sorted, and the basic logistics, which meant that we had just under 4 weeks to get the message out, and do the marketing for her event.
While I had read “The Secret” in 2007, and have since studied with Loral and Live Out Loud in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, there were few people here who had heard about her. Several clients of Evolve Dynamic had heard me tell the stories and share some of the learnings, so they jumped at the opportunity to meet her.
Yes, the event was indeed a great success (and you can read more about it, with photos on the home page: www.evolvedynamic.net).

What always amazes me is how quickly things happen when you make a decision! When I first read “The Secret” I hoped that one day I would meet and learn from the teachers featured there. It was a lifelong dream – and yet, in less than 4 years I have met several of them, worked personally with both Bob Proctor and Loral Langemeier, and have now hosted Loral in Perth and introduced her to entrepreneurs and investors here.
It really was just a pipe dream, with very little chance of reality when I first thought of it.

I share this not to impress you, but to impress upon you that you too can reach your goals. What do you have that is exciting you at the moment? What wakes you up in the morning?
The purpose of having goals is to keep you alive, to give you energy and to keep you growing. Setting a list of actions to-do is not the same! Yes, you do need a to-do list – that is in line with those big hairy audacious goals!

Here is how you check to see if your goal is right for you:

Does it excite you?

When you think about achieving the goal, does it give you a tingling sensation in your tummy, a tear in your eye, or cause a big smile to come onto your face? Goals that are right for you give you energy, make your mind fill with possibilities and add value to your day. They are likely to utilise your talents and allow you to utilise your strengths. Goals that aren’t right for you deplete your energy, pull you down and probably require you to work on your weaknesses.
If you look at your goal list and realise that you have already achieved all of them, then make a new list!

Is it YOUR goal?

Are you supporting someone else with their goal? That’s very noble, but it might not drive you enough to get through the hurdles that come your way. It’s important for you to have your own goals, and then to support others in theirs. When you get clear on yours, you find it very easy to fulfil your goals and assist others with theirs at the same time – the alignment is quite remarkable.

Have you already achieved it?

If you are already living the life you desire, then you already know how to get this far. Set a new goal, a different goal that is going to enable you to continue along the journey. If you already have the time and money freedom that you wish for, then how would you like to share your expertise with others?

Make a Decision

The easiest way to have to do nothing is to say you aren’t clear on your goal yet (or declare that you have already achieved them)! Choose a goal, get started on it – and if you find a more exciting one along the way, then pursue that one.
If you don’t have a goal clearly articulated, then you’re not likely to be getting the results you want.
Many of the clients that come to Evolve Dynamic for assistance with goal setting are those who have achieved several goals already – I hear “I know all this stuff” many times. The difference with doing one of the Evolve Dynamic programs is that we close the knowing-doing gap. We focus you back onto the dreams you had, filter through the ones you have already achieved, drop the ones that no longer interest you, and re-ignite the passion for those that excite and motivate you.

Today is Chooseday (everyday is Chooseday!). Spend some time thinking of something that would really blow your socks off, if it happened. Then commit to the actions that you know you need to take to start the ball rolling. If it’s really a good goal for you, I think you will be surprised to see how quickly it progresses!

Which buttons are you pressing?

September 20, 2011 by

Have you ever noticed how teenage boys just LOVE to tease their sisters?  Without giving out too much detail, let’s just say that I have been observing at quite close quarters, how one such boy will stand in wait to give his sisters a fright. The louder they scream, the bigger the kick that he gets from it!  He can spend ages thinking up strategies to press their buttons!

No matter how much I tell them not to rise to the bait, they continue to fall for it every time!  Having grown up as the only girl with three older brothers, I simply had to adapt and act impervious to their teasing, otherwise I knew they would never let up!  It certainly stood me in good stead when I was working on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and was part of the 1% of women on the market floor at the time!

I’ve suggested he put his time to better use creating other things, but he just loves seeng their reaction!  I guess this may change as other girls get more interesting in the years to come!  He could be spending this time more productively and  could result in better school marks or  anything else in line with his goals.

But do teenagers ever really grow up?  I’ve observed business owners spending energy figuring out how to press other people’s buttons!  My question is: What are you currently focusing on, and is it getting you one step (or a massive leap) closer to what you want?  Are you spending time on the productive or unproductive actions? Are you using your ingenuity to beat a system, or to get you closer to your goal?

Are you allowing your time to be wasted getting caught up in the incompetency of head office or another office, or are you focused on what impacts on your business – and making changes that directly affect your bottom line?

There will always be those who tease, press buttons, spend hours trying to get around the system – so we can either join them, allow the buttons to be pressed, or put our focus entirely on productive things.

As I spend time with business owners and leaders, they tell me they all know what they should be doing, but they aren’t  doing it. The strategies you ran when your business was really doing well – are you doing those strategies now? Or are you allowing politics, other people or circumstances to affect your focus?

Find something that you can get really excited about, check if it will move you in the direction of your current goal, and then take action.

Press your own button – the one that says ACTION!

Leave the other non-productive behaviour to those who don’t have anything better to do with their time!

If you’re in Perth, I hope you’re joining us THIS THURSDAY to meet Loral Langemeier. If you haven’t yet heard of her, don’t worry, I only heard about her 4 years ago when I first read “The Secret”. Her conversation around money fascinated me as she spoke about the strategies that the wealthy use for investing and building businesses. I’m delighted she accepted my invitation to come to Perth to share her strategies with our clients, colleagues and friends.  My invitation to her had one condition – that she meet with a small group of Perthites for an “Up Close and Personal” over some yummy canapes and drinks – and is prepared to share some of the behind the scenes stories that she doesn’t share elsewhere.

I’m finding more and more investors and business owners in Perth who want to connect with other successful people – to have a peer group that they can discuss and mastermind ideas and strategies with. They have been around the block once or twice and want to share some of their expertise, while also sharing the expertise of others for the benefit of their business.  Dynamic mentors are crucial if you want to create a great business, but if you’re happy with an average business or life, you probably wouldn’t be interested!

Goals DO NOT have to be realistic…

September 6, 2011 by

You’ve heard of SMART goals right?  Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely.

What is realistic now differs from what is realistic in 20 years time. Cast your mind back 25 years – back to 1986 (no, it can’t possibly be 25 years since then, surely?)  It seems like just the other day.

Did you own a mobile phone? Did you own a computer? Did 14-year olds have their own laptops?  Could you phone someone overseas and look at them face-to-face like you do on Skype?

Would it have been a realistic goal to set a goal of having a mobile phone back then?

Cast your mind even further back – to 1896.  Two brothers, Orville and Wilbur, bicycle mechanics living in the United States – were passionate about getting an aircraft into the air.No-one had ever flown before.

Inspired by a toy helicopter and stories of early attempts of gliders fueled their dreams. Can you imagine how unrealistic their goal of getting a human into an aeroplane – hundreds of feet in the air, must have seemed to everyone around them?  Was this an achievable goal?  Clearly they believed it was – and they continued to study, trial and test their plans until in December 1903 they succeeded in getting a human being airborne in their first aircraft.

We are now in 2011. I flew 2720 km, or 1690 miles, from Perth to  Melbourne  on Sunday, and back on Monday afternoon. Perfectly realistic, people fly everywhere all the time.  This morning my husband flew up to Karratha – 950 miles north of Perth (as he does nearly every Tuesday morning).  If you had told me 10 years ago that my husband would fly to work every week, rather than drive, we both would have laughed at you!  Now it has become a way of life for many of us.

Too many people set goals they think they can achieve. Safe comfortable goals that others are going to be impressed with. It is any wonder that they procrastinate over these goals?

I would like to encourage you to re-think your goals. Think BIG – play a bigger game.  What is going to be realistic in 20 years time that you think isn’t possible now?

Ask yourself a few questions:

  • Am I excited about this goal?
  • Am I willing to do the actions that need doing in order to achieve this goal?
  • Am I able to do what it takes?

It’s the action steps that need to be realistic, not the goal itself. Set realistic and achievable action steps, and you will reach your goal.

As Bob Proctor says: “If your goal isn’t scary and exciting, then it’s not a big enough goal for you!”

Do you want to play a bigger game?

Can you remember how much fun you have had when you’ve had something to strive for?   The focus you have when you have lots to do and a little time to do it in?

Think back to the goals you have achieved.  I bet that you felt most alive when you were reaching for one of your biggest goals.

How are you doing right now?  Have you reset your goals, have you started playing a bigger game?

If you have, well done – no wonder you’re excited to get out of bed every morning, and are focused and productive in the actions you need to take.

I used to think the only purpose of having a goal was to achieve it.  That you set goals to get something you didn’t already have, or to have an experience you wanted – or to get someplace you hadn’t yet been. Now I know that part of the purpose of a goal is to energise you – to make your life worth living, to bring the excitement into your life. That the experience you’re looking for is found partly in the journey to your destination.

If you’re not feeling as positive as you normally are – or feeling under stress…. Chances are that you haven’t set a big enough goal that is pulling you forward right now.  It may not even be about the achievement for you – perhaps you have already achieved everything you thought you wanted?  Are you feeling comfortable?

If you can relate to this, isn’t it time you played a bigger game?  Have you got others around you that are challenging you to stretch further, to play bigger?

Part of my own mission of  “playing a bigger game” is to connect you (if you’re wanting to play a bigger game -whatever that means to you) with others that are keen to do the same.  I have been speaking to so many successful people who want to take their business to the next level, start a new venture entirely or break new ground.  How would you like to be masterminding with them?

This is not going to appeal to everyone, but you know if it’s the right time for you. I’d like to hear from you if it is.

Someone that is playing a much bigger game than I am is four-time bestselling author of  “The  Millionaire Maker” and other books: Loral Langemeier.  If you’re near Perth, you can join us on September 22nd for an Up Close and Personal event to get an introspective look into what has made Loral one of the most successful business owners in the world.  Visit www.evolvedynamic.com for more information.
